Ferry Janssen and Berry Sanders win the ESA Technology transfer prize with the EVE oxygen generator for General Practitioners

9 januari 2023

Every year each of the ESA brokers organises a competition for new technology transfer ideas. Ferry Janssen (GP) and Berry sanders (HDES) participated this year with their idea to use the EVE Oxygen Cool Gas Generator for general practitioners so they can help patients with breathing problems until an ambulance arrives. This idea is a further development of the EVE prototype that has recently been tested by the HDES team. Ferry and Berry intend to use the prize to further develop the business plan. Ferry will work with his colleagues to further define the product and Berry will work on […]

HDES tests full prototype of an oxygen generator

27 november 2022

EVE team tests full prototype of an oxygen Cool Gas Generator A team lead by HDES and consisting of Lencon Engineering and AOW Consultancy has demonstrated a full prototype of an oxygen cool gas generator for breathing applications. This prototype was developed in the framework of the EVE MIT co-operation project sponsored by the Province of Zuid Holland. In the EVE project HDES developed the oxygen producing charge for the oxygen generator and designed the overall system, including the activation. Lencon focused on designing a suitable housing that kept the outside wall cool enough that it can held by hand, […]

Full scale prototype tests successful

14 april 2022

With the new enlarged test set-up available, HDES continues its heavy testing schedule with tests taking place every week. These prototype tests have proven the correct working of the Oxygen Generator which is now entering its last stage of prototype development. On 14  April 2022 HDES did the first successful test with a full scale prototype of a CO2 cool gas generator. This test produced 27 liter of CO2 gas according to expectations. The CO2 generator is currently in development for maritime safety and space applications. See for more information and a video of the experiment our post on LinkedIn: […]

Dutch team led by HDES wins second phase of the SBIR Space Technology

21 maart 2022

A team led by HDES Service & Engineering with Bradford Engineering and TNO as partners has been awarded a second phase in the SBIR Space Technology tender of the Netherlands Space Office. The team has already conducted a succesfull feasibiliy study. See the link below to our projects page. https://hdes.nl/our-projects/minos-cool-gas-generator-pressurisation-system-for-small-satellite-propulsion/ In this second phase,  which will last one year and has a value of 413 thousand Euro,  the team will develop and qualify a CO2 Cool Gas Generators (CGG) to pressurize space propulsion systems of small satellites. With the CGGs, blow-down propulsion systems will be able to carry up to […]

HDES assists in the PCB design of Soilspect

Soilspect of Noordwijk, the Netherlands is developing a high-precision automatic measurement station to keep track of the settlement of the ground. This system can be adjusted to measure the elevation with daily to weekly intervals transmits the data to an internet dashboard, which can be accessed from everywhere in the world via internet. HDES assisted Soilspect in making the design of the PCB design for their measurement station. HDES did this in a short time of only two months. The project was carried out in the framework of the SBIC Technical Assitance Programme. More information on the activities of soilspect […]

Three is a charm…

28 oktober 2021

HDES is progressing well with its oxygen generator development and is passing milestone after milestone. In August we saw the first fully successful small scale test of an oxygen Cool Gas Generator. Further work resulted in more testing in September. On 23 September 2022 HDES the test crew fired three oxygen generators in one day. All performed well and the oxygen production was within a few percent of each other. This opens the way for full prototype testing of our oxygen generator and finalisation of the product development.
